United Way kicks off School Supply Drive

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — While summer is in full swing, the United Way is already working to make sure students are ready to go back to school.

They kicked off their annual school supply drive in Moorhead with the help of some local learners.

This year they’re goal is to provide backpacks and school supplies to 6,500 students in need across the metro, helping them be prepared and ready to learn.

They’re also getting help from Corwin Automotive, who will be matching donations up to $40,000 for this year’s drive.

Tiffany McShane with United Way Cass Clay says, “Every year, one of the most rewarding parts of this drive is watching kids pull up in their cars with just your excitement for getting prepared to go back to school. This might just feel like a singular backpack behind me but it’s so much more.
