Agricultural Education from the Red River Valley Fair

The room combines facts and learning experiences regarding agriculture with live, adorable animals.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Red River Valley Fair is on day 6 and there’s still plenty to see and do at the fairgrounds.

One enticing exhibit in the midst of this heat is the Agricultural Education building.

This space features various interactive exhibits that teach interesting facts about farming and crops.

There’s also a petting zoo with many common barnyard animals.

Educators say one of their main goals is to reestablish the connection between consumers and livestock.

“When you think of a kid that thinks the food comes from the grocery store shelf – we try to disconnect that,” explained Tucker Regner. “Show them that, nope, it comes from the farmer, it comes from the ground, then it ends up on your plate. So that’s the real purpose of the building as a whole.”

Other activities available include Ag Jeopardy! and the chance to answer an agricultural riddle for a prize.
