FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Plains Art Museum rolled out a schedule of extra kid-friendly programming this Saturday.

It was Littles Art Day starting at 8:30 A.M. and going until 11:30.

Theatre NDSU, the North Dakota Academy of Dance, and the Fargo Public Library joined forces with Plains to offer a huge variety of art-based activities.

There were dance classes, arts and crafts, drama exploration, music classes, and story time.

Museum staff says it’s important to engage artistically with the children – but that parents play a critical role in these days as well.

“We also think about if the adults are engaged – then they go home, and they can do this play at home, too,” explained Aletra McCann, community engagement manager for the museum.

“It’ll help create lifelong learners and creators.”

The event was completely free to attend – and older siblings were encouraged to join in the fun as well.
