Head-on crash into tree leaves juvenile passenger with serious injuries

MINOT, N.D. (KVRR) — A truck crashed head on into a tree, leaving a juvenile passenger with serious injuries and the driver with a DUI charge.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 2:48 p.m. in Cross Ranch State Park, just north of Sanger.
Authorities say the truck was headed north through the park when the vehicle sped up and hit the tree head on.
The driver, a 47-year-old Minot man suffered minor injuries in the crash. The passenger, identified as a juvenile male, sustained serious injuries. Both were taken to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.
The driver has been charged with DUI with a minor, reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, child neglect, and no proof of liability insurance.
The crash remains under investigation.
