Grafton Man Drowns in Cass Lake
Authorities say the man entered the lake to try and fix an issue with his boat motor and never resurfaced.

CASS LAKE, MN (KVRR) – A 41-year-old man from Grafton, North Dakota has died after drowning while trying to work on an issue with a boat motor.
Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk says that on Saturday, August 9, just before 6 P.M., they received reports of a person in the water and not resurfacing in Cass Lake. The man had apparently entered the water to work on the motor issue and never resurfaced, despite juveniles in the boat trying to throw him a life jacket.
Law enforcement and rescue agencies responded to the scene within minutes but were unable to locate the man until 7:51 that evening. He was deceased. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the incident remains under investigation.
