Randy’s University Diner announces plans to move to new location

FARGO (KVRR) — Randy’s Diner on South University Drive shared some big news with customers on their Facebook page.

After 26 years in the current location, Randy’s is moving across the street to Midtown Market, on the former Kmart lot.

They say they have outgrown their current location and it’s too expensive to maintain and repair.

They promise more parking and seating at their new location as well as a new, air conditioned kitchen for their employees, something they currently do not have.

“We have been in talks for at least six months now, I want to say, but we didn’t actually finalize anything until about a month or two ago. I know we just finalized our floor plans just a few weeks ago, so we’re just working on construction bids and seeing who we can get in the door and who can do it faster for us,” said Elizabeth Lawson, general manager for Randy’s University Diner.

While they say the menu won’t change, they do plan on having a few new specials along with a salad bar.

The opening date is still to be determined.
