Two injured after crashing stolen ATV

Moorhead, Minn. (KVRR) – Two riders, an adult driver and a child passenger, were injured in an ATV rollover crash Tuesday afternoon.
Moorhead Police responded to the area of the 2700 block of 6th Avenue North. They found the driver, 22-year-old Sufyan Alqawasmi of Moorhead, and the child passenger injured. They were both taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The initial investigation said that Alqawasmi was driving recklessly and the ATV was stolen. Due to his injuries, Alqawasmi was not placed in custody, and was left in the care of medical professionals.
The Moorhead Police are requesting formal charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Vehicular Operation, Leaving the Scene of a Crash, and Reckless Driving be filed by the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
