Former West Fargo principal asks to be placed in North Carolina prison

FARGO (KVRR/KFGO) – Attorneys for a former West Fargo Elementary School principal who pleaded guilty to federal child sex abuse charges will ask the judge to place him in a prison in North Carolina.
In May, David George pleaded guilty to taking a 10-year-old boy to South Dakota, molesting him, taking images of the abuse, and sharing them. The plea agreement between George and federal prosecutors calls for 40 years in prison.
Court records say the crimes happened between October 2022 and August 2023. The investigation began when law enforcement learned George was trading sex abuse material of children between 4 and 10 years old online.
George was arrested in March of 2024.
During his time in jail, George has been in counseling and completed around 300 online courses. His attorneys will ask that George be placed in a prison on the east coast known for its comprehensive mental health programs. If that isn’t feasible, they will ask he be placed closer to Fargo.
They say George is willing to participate in the bureau of prisons sex offender programs. George is scheduled to be sentenced Monday.
