Vitalant providing free diabetes screenings through month of September

Vitalant Donor

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — For the first time ever, Vitalant is offering blood donors a free A1C test for diabetes through the month of September.

More than one in three adults has prediabetes and doesn’t know it.

Vitalant is testing to see how people react and be able to provide an easily accessible option for their donors.

Blood donors will receive their results along with cholesterol and other wellness information within seven days of their donation.

“Our goal is to keep our community healthy. We’re the community blood supplier for our local hospitals. We want to make sure that we’re doing things to give back to our community as well. So this is just another added bonus in that health questionnaire that will give them some health benefits as well,” said Jennifer Bredahl, Regional Director for Vitalant.
