Twin Cities man charged with threatening to kill federal judges, their children, pets

MINNEAPOLIS (KVRR-KFGO) – A Twin Cities man who was convicted in 2019 of threatening to kill a federal judge is charged with threatening to kill the same judge again.
Wayzata Police officers arrested 72-year-old Bob Ivers last week after an investigation by that department, the FBI, the Minnesota BCA, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service. The Justice Department says the investigation began last Wednesday after the Wayzata Library reported a man printed copies of a manifesto called How to Kill a Federal Judge.
Library staff say Ivers showed them the manifesto that talked about killing the judges, their family members, and their pets. He pointed out one page of the 236-page manifesto that talked about killing children. He gave them a flyer promoting the manifesto before leaving.
Investigators learned that the week prior, staff from a church reported he attended multiple events and showed concerning behavior.
During his arrest, officers found 20 copies of his manifesto, a picture of the former pope with crosshairs on his head, fliers, lists of federal judges, a copy of Anarchist Cookbook and other items.
