Family displaced after stovetop fire in their south Fargo apartment

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Fargo family has been displaced after a kitchen fire damaged their apartment.

Fargo Fire responded to a fire alarm at an apartment complex just south of West Acres Mall around 1:30 this afternoon.

They arrived to heavy smoke in a first-floor unit and a fire on the stovetop, which they quickly extinguished.

People in the unit had evacuated before crews arrived, and no-one was hurt.

American Red Cross will be assisting the displaced family.

A cost estimate of the damage is not available.
