DILWORTH, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — Burlington Northern Santa Fe says 14 train cars derailed overnight in Dilworth.

BNSF Executive Director of Public Affairs Lydia Underdahl says 13 of the cars were empty auto racks and one was a tank car carrying fuel oil.

The tank car was not compromised and there were no injuries reported.

The derailment caused the public crossing on Main Avenue to close while crews worked to clear up the derailment.

By the time we were there this afternoon, the crossing was open.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
