FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — In their battle to fight food insecurity, Cass Clay Creamery once again teamed up with Hornbacher’s to donate milk to Great Plains Food Bank.

Cass Clay Creamery donated over 24,000 “Giving Cow” cartons of milk.

In North Dakota, 77,000 people face hunger, and over 25,000 of whom are children.

As one of the most requested items at food banks, these cartons are designed to be on the shelf up to one year.

It also comes in time for the food bank’s back-to-school backpack program.

“We just like to partner with the community and this helps the state of North Dakota where we do a lot of business. And at this time of year it’s a good time with the backpack program that the food bank does. And with school starting and with winter coming on,” said Steve Tedford, Sales Manager for Cass Clay Creamery.

This year alone, Cass Clay has donated 46,000 Giving Cow milk cartons to Great Plains Food Bank.
