Park River Man Charged with Arson

PARK RIVER, N.D. (KVRR) – The Walsh County Sheriff’s Office says they have charged a Park River man with multiple felonies after multiple incidents occurred Saturday, October 4, in Park River.

Walsh County deputies were called to 119 Pine Street for a report of a structure fire. Deputies were also notified of a second call on Birch Street for a gas line on fire. The investigation revealed the two calls were regarding the same incident.

Witnesses said Patrick Aune had started a fire inside the home at 119 Pine Street by pouring gasoline and by cutting an active gas line.

It was also determined that gas lines were cut at three other locations in Park River. All were cut with a grinder.

Aune was arrested and taken to the Walsh County Jail in Grafton.

He is facing multiple felony charges, including arson and criminal mischief.
