Parents and teachers write questions down concerning replacement of Horace Mann Elementary. 10/6/25.

FARGO — Parents and teachers gathered in the Horace Mann Elementary School gym Monday evening to ask questions about the upcoming replacement of the school.

Fargo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Cory Steiner and Associate Superintendent Missy Eidsness answered questions ranging from construction safety to concerns about keeping siblings in different grades in the same building during the transition.

While the superintendents answered the best they could, they also asked for the questions and concerns to be written down so they could take them into account as the process of building the new school goes forward.

Horace Mann Principal Leandra Ostrom says the school district is working to make sure public input is taken into account for the project.

“We’re very excited for it, but we’re also understanding of the anxiety and being cautious,” Ostrom said. “And these decisions are not easy to make, and we have done a really nice job in our Fargo public Schools to have that community input and build this up to where it is now.”

The northside school project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2028.
