Homeowner states they contacted police a day after house fire for suspected break in

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Hours after a twin home in southwest Fargo caught fire on Saturday night, the homeowner reported to police that someone was trying to break in.
At around 8 on Sunday night, officers responded to the report of a possible suspicious vehicle near the residence in the 5100 block of 48th Avenue South.
The homeowner stated that they had contacted the police several times and reported seeing a U-Haul truck.
Officers searched the area and did not locate any suspicious vehicle.
The night of the fire, one person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A dog taken to a local vet for evaluation later died.
Those living in the twin home units were displaced due to significant fire and smoke damage.
The cause remains under investigation.
