Building Industry Association focus on the growth of Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Industry leaders met with the Downtown Community Partnership to talk about the future of Fargo and the greater region.
Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley hosted the meeting to share their thoughts on the growing population.
In downtown Fargo, an estimated 6,000 people are living and renting, with the population continuously growing.
Rocky Schneider with the DCP points out that he is working on several different projects to progress the future of the city.
“At any given day, that population rises to about 15,000 people that both live and work downtown, so it’s almost its little microcity in itself. And so we have to try to treat it that way with different industries and the building industry. As we look at the city’s updated growth plan, we need to look internally and say, How do we get more out of the existing land that we have?” said Rocky Schneider, Executive Director at Downtown Community Partnership.
Schneider says that there are several projects that are being worked on in the downtown area which includes a $93 million Renaissance zone project.
