Lake Park man arrested following high-speed pursuit in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — A Lake Park man is arrested after leading Clay County deputies on a high-speed pursuit.

The sheriff’s office says a little before noon, a deputy attempted to stop his vehicle for speeding on Hwy 10 near Hawley.

They say 40-year-old Cody Johnson took off, hitting speeds up to 110 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued onto gravel roads.

Johnson was eventually stopped with stop sticks but then took off running. A passenger was detained and later released without any charges.

A K9 was brought in and helped find Johnson.

Johnson is being held for Felony Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Gross Misdemeanor Driving After Cancellation-Inimical to Public Safety, Gross Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Fleeing a Police Office on Foot.
