Two Men Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Juvenile, Fleeing Police
Authorities deployed both a drone and a K-9 unit to track down the two suspects.
CASS COUNTY, N.D. (KVRR) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says that two men are in custody after reportedly assaulting a juvenile and then attempting to flee from law enforcement.
The incident began at around 1 A.M. on October 25. A juvenile female located somewhere along I-29 called authorities, requesting assistance for a domestic assault. Cass County Sheriff’s deputies eventually located her in Fargo and took her to a medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries.
Through information she provided, the deputies were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle near Gardner, North Dakota. The suspects fled in that vehicle, which was later found crashed and abandoned.
Deputies immediately began a ground search. They were assisted by a drone from the North Dakota Highway Patrol and a K-9 unit from the West Fargo Police Department. Authorities were eventually able to locate and arrest 20-year-old Reece Harold and 22-year-old Nicholas Hilsendeger.
Harold is currently facing charges of aggravated domestic assault and fleeing in a motor vehicle, among others, while Hilsendeger’s only felony charge is that of unlawful possession of meth paraphernalia.
Both are being held in the Cass County Jail.
