Sheyenne Turns into Treat Street in West Fargo

West Fargo Events wanted to make sure that kids had a safe, concentrated area to get all the candy they possibly could.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The main drag of downtown West Fargo was teeming with trick-or-treaters on Saturday – and local businesses and organizations were eager to hand out candy.

West Fargo Events blocked off a large portion of Sheyenne Street and turned it into “Treat Street” from 1 to 3 P.M.

Over 40 tables were set up to dole out the goodies, run by everyone from the West Fargo Police Department to Sandy’s Donuts.

Event staff says they like to provide a slightly warmer, safer environment to make sure everyone gets the chance to trick-or-treat.

“Not all kids necessarily want or have the chance to go out on Halloween night. It might be too cold or too dark,” explained Nick Bucklin from West Fargo Events. “We give them the opportunity to have the experience – wear their costume and get some candy.”

As this was a free event, it’s difficult to track exact attendance, but West Fargo Events estimated over two thousand people came out for treats.
