Cass County Sheriff reveals name of woman who died in Horace
HORACE, N.D. (KVRR) — Wednesday morning at the Carlson Place Apartments was full of chaos, according to Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner, as deputies had responded to an unknown disturbance call of a woman who was unresponsive with injuries.
“Deputies, along with Southern Valley Rescue, were first on the scene at the apartment and found a female lying in the hallway with a suspected gunshot wound,” said Sheriff Jesse Jahner, Cass County Sheriff.
The woman, 23-year-old Sakeena Khaadi, was living with her boyfriend, 21-year-old Derrick Lobbo, and his 2-year-old son. Prior to his arrest, authorities were notified that Lobbo had gone to the local Sanford clinic to notify them of Khaadi’s injury. He soon left the clinic and was yelling for help before being detained by deputies.
“Investigation is very active and ongoing. There’s a lot of information coming in, we just want to make sure that when we’re looking at potential charges, that we have the information to support that. It’s very important to us, to the victim, to the suspect, to the community,” said Jahner.
Lobbo has been charged with reckless endangerment and child neglect. He also has two outstanding warrants for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana. The Sheriff’s office is still investigating for potential further charges.
“I want to assure everyone that we will continue to work diligently until we feel we’ve done a complete and thorough investigation. So, we can provide answers to the victim’s family and to our Horace community,” said Jahner.
Cass County Sheriff officials ask that if anyone has any further information to contact them at 701-241-5844.
