FARGO — Students in schools across North Dakota now have a new way to experience possible careers, practically first hand.

CareerViewXR uses virtual reality to give students a chance to try out different jobs and see which ones they want to pursue.

North Dakota is the first state in the country to implement immersive career exploration technology.

Tours highlight industries like skilled trades, healthcare, and energy.

The platform currently has a library covering more than 100 experiences.

“We create tours that they can go through and see what a day in the life of different in-demand occupations is like,” said CareerViewXR CEO Matt Chaussee. “Then we also create companion virtual reality videos that can be loaded into a VR headset. So that when a student puts on the headset, they get completely immersed in a day in the life of a career.”
