Man found dead in Otter Tail County farm field

ELIZABETH, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – Officials in Otter Tail County are investigating the death of a man.

The sheriff’s office, Elizabeth Fire Department and Ringdahl Ambulance responded to a report of a man found dead in a field northeast of Elizabeth just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

An 84-year-old man had been burning off a farm field and was found dead in that field by a friend. The man was dead at the scene and was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.  A crime is not suspected.
