WEST FARGO — A local furniture store is helping area kids have a good nights sleep this Christmas.

Slumberland’s Home for the Holidays event has been going on for several years now.

The company gives out free twin mattresses and bed-frames for families in need.

This year Slumberland, with the help of The Salvation Army, gave out a whopping 63 beds.

Bed sheets were donated by Walmart, local quilters donated quilts, and pillows were supplied by North Dakota Elite Cheer, and PetSmart gave a toy to go with each bed.

Ryan Olin with Slumberland stressed the importance of a child to be able to get a good night’s rest.

“Studies show that kids do a lot better in school, they have less behavior issues, they’re more independent, more confident when they have their own space to sleep and call their own,” Olin said.

This was the 31st year of Slumberland’s Home for the Holidays program in Fargo.
