Man Dies by Apparent Suicide at Fryin’ Pan in Wahpeton

The Wahpeton Police Department says no other people were injured and there is no threat to the public.

WAHPETON, N.D. (KVRR) – Many questions still linger after a report from the Wahpeton Police Department regarding an incident at the Fryin’ Pan Family Restaurant early in the morning of December 14.

WPD says that Richland County Dispatch received a 911 call at 1:30 A.M. on that day. When the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and WPD arrived at 1008 Dakota Avenue, they found a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear at this time if the shooting happened in the restaurant itself or outside.

The incident remains under investigation by WPD and the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
