FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Sons of Norway held their traditional Scandinavian holiday event on Sunday, looking to celebrate the season with classic Norwegian traditions and a sense of community.

The event began at 2:00 P.M. in the Juven Ballroom of the Kringen Lodge.

There was live music ranging from ukuleles to accordions, an ugly sweater contest, and of course, visits with Santa.

Kringen Lodge members say that bringing people together is one of the most gratifying parts of their jobs.

“I really love coordinating the whole thing,” said John Andreasen, president of the Kringen Lodge. “Kind of being behind the scenes, though I am also the MC for it – just a chance to entertain and welcome and help people have a good time celebrating.”

The Sons of Norway will also be celebrating New Year’s with a surf & turf dinner and live music and dancing.

Tickets for that event are $40.
