UPDATE: police arrest suspect for trying to rob Discontent
The department says the robber entered a smoke shop, handed a note to the cashier demanding money, but ultimately fled with nothing.

UPDATE (12/19/25) The suspect is 30-year-old Logan D. Winkler from Brocket, ND. Winkler has been arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery in connection with the incident, and no further charges are expected at this time.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – The Grand Forks Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an individual that allegedly attempted to rob a smoke shop on South Washington Street.
The department says just after 6:30 P.M. on December 17, a person entered Discontent holding an envelope and wearing sunglasses, a green and white sweatshirt, and a mask covering their face. It’s believed this person is a Caucasian man.
The person handed an employee the envelope, which contained a note demanding money and stating that the individual was armed. However, they fled the store quickly after handing over that envelope and did not receive any money.
The suspect went east after exiting the shop and the Grand Forks Police Department has yet to locate them at present. Anyone with information regarding this attempted robbery is encouraged to contact the department.
