The seventh annual Battle of the Badges begins

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — West Fargo Police and Fire departments kicked off their seventh annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
The event partnered with Vitalant, bringing together both departments for a friendly competition.
Members of the public are invited to donate blood with their choice of which department they are donating for.
Participants also have a chance to take part in a drawing for a prize, receive a t-shirt, and free food.
For the last two years, the West Fargo Fire Department has won the trophy, and they hope to do so again.
“It’s also great, too, because our responders get to see a lot of bad situations where blood is needed eventually. So, it’s a good way for us to give back to the community and also to get community members out too. It’s a really easy way to help the community and help someone else, potentially who will need blood,” said Darin Underhill, Fire Inspector with West Fargo Fire Department.
The blood drive continues until Wednesday afternoon at the West Fargo Conference Center.
