Federal government freezes all child care payments to Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — The U.S. Health and Human Services Department is freezing child care payments to Minnesota amid a massive fraud investigation.
Several child care centers in the state were a part of a viral video by an independent journalist looking into possible fraud.
The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families has launched it’s own investigation and has not found any evidence of fraud, so far.
Governor Tim Walz responded on social media, posting, “This is Trump’s long game. We’ve spent years cracking down on fraudsters. It’s a serious issue – but this has been his plan all along. He’s politicizing the issue to defund programs that help Minnesotans.”
