FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Those looking for an authentic Scandinavian sauna experience now have the entire month of January to get sweaty.

Last year, Folkways brought their wood-fired barrel sauna to Drekker for one weekend in February.

This time around, due to popular demand, the sauna will be at the taproom for the entire month.

Groups of up to six people can purchase an hour-long session for $20 a person.

Folkways said their opening stretch – from January 1 to 4 – saw excellent attendance.

“It’s been really popular. We’ve been almost full with slots, pretty full sessions,” said Jeffrey Porter, production coordinator for Folkways. “We’ve got some really nice kiln-dried oak wood, so it’s smelling great in there with the wood-burning stove.”

The sauna will be at Drekker from Thursday – Sunday for the rest of the month.

And, if you miss that, it’ll also be at Frostival in Viking Ship Park on January 31.
