BISMARCK, N.D. (North Dakota Monitor) — North Dakota U.S. Rep. Julie Fedorchak, R-N.D., announced her reelection campaign Monday in a video posted to social media.

In the video, Fedorchak is described as someone who supports the “America first” agenda and will keep North Dakota as her “top priority.”

“As a fourth-generation North Dakotan, I want the very best state and nation — for my kids and for yours,” Fedorchak said in a social media post.

This will be Fedorchak’s first reelection campaign for North Dakota’s only U.S. House seat. She defeated Democratic-NPL Party candidate Trygve Hammer during the 2024 general election with 69% of the statewide vote and won the five-candidate Republican primary election with 46% of the vote.

During her first year in Congress, Fedorchak introduced the Ending Intermittent Energy Subsidies Act, which aimed to curtail federal subsidies for wind and solar projects. Portions of the act were included in the 2025 Republican budget reconciliation package, the One, Big Beautiful Bill Act, that was signed into law by President Donald Trump in July.

She also voted in favor of the House Republican health care proposal in December, the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, which includes a transparency provision targeting pharmacy benefit managers, cost-sharing reductions and expands access to association health plans. The health care bill does not extend the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits. The bill is under consideration by the U.S. Senate.

Trump endorsed Fedorchak’s reelection bid in a social media post in August.

When asked if she plans to seek the North Dakota Republican Party’s endorsement at its state convention in March, Kate Roberts, a spokesperson for the Fedorchak campaign, said North Dakotans “expect the state party” to stand with Trump’s endorsed candidate.

In December, former-Republican-endorsed U.S. House Candidate Alex Balazs announced he will challenge Fedorchak for the state’s lone U.S. House seat. Balazs finished fourth out of five Republican candidates during the 2024 primary election with 4% of the statewide vote.
