FARGO, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) — Fargo City Commissioner Michelle Turnberg says she is considering running for mayor.

In a post on Facebook, Turnberg says she’s discussing running with family and others. She says a decision whether or not to run will be made soon.

Commissioner Denise Kolpack announced her candidacy for mayor Monday. She’s the second person to announce their intentions to run, joining Army National Guard Member Jake Coulter. Democratic State Sen. Josh Boschee and former Fargo Police Lt. Joel Vettel, now a Cass County Commissioner, have also expressed interest in running.

Mayor Tim Mahoney is no eligible to run again due to term limits.

Turnberg, a former news anchor, is in her first term as commissioner. She was elected in 2024, and her term expires in 2028.
