Walz: National Guard staged and ready to support law enforcement

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR) — Governor Tim Walz authorizes the Minnesota National Guard to be staged and ready to support law enforcement, if needed.

His office says it’s to help protect critical infrastructure and maintain public safety following the fatal shooting of a woman involving an ICE agent in south Minneapolis Wednesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol has mobilized 85 members of its Mobile Response Team in the Twin Cities.
