Red River SWAT Team Assists With Warrant
UPDATE: The Fargo Police Department says the warrant was served to help search for missing person 24-year-old Isadora Wengel. The detained individual was released without charge.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Fargo Police Department has issued a release regarding some law enforcement actions that took place in the evening of January 9.
The FPD says they served a search warrant to a residence in the 4400 block of Calico Drive South just after 6:00 P.M. The Red River SWAT team was on hand to assist. They used a flash-sound diversionary device and helped breach the door of said residence.
Authorities say one person was detained and that there is no active threat to the public. They will release more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE (12:45 P.M., January 11): Authorities have provided more information as to why they were at the Calico Drive South residence executing that warrant.
The Fargo Police Department says the search was in connection to a missing person case for 24-year-old Isadora Wengel.
Officers searched an apartment at the Calico Drive address for evidence in the case. One person was detained but ultimately released and is not facing any charges.
The FPD added that they are working closely with City landfill personnel to search the specific area where trash from the apartment in question would have been disposed.
