WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – One of the largest youth basketball tournaments in the region returned for its sixth installment this year, continuing to raise money and awareness for a local nonprofit.

The annual 3-on-3 tournament hosted by Landon’s Light once again took place at Liberty Middle School in West Fargo.

78 teams signed up, an increase from last year, and organizers even added a division for 2nd grade teams so more kids could participate.

The tournament not only raises money for the organization but also promotes sportsmanship and physical activity in a way many believe Landon would have appreciated.

“Yes they want to win, they want to bring home a medal,” said Julie Christianson, executive director of Landon’s Light. “But you can see the sportsmanship on the court – they pick each other up. It’s amazing to see, and I know Landon is smiling down with gratitude and a lot of happiness – he’s very proud of what his parents have put together with this foundation. ”

2026 is especially significant for Landon’s Light, as Landon would have graduated from high school this year.

The nonprofit plans to honor that milestone by offering even more scholarships to graduating seniors than they usually do.
