Winter Classic Brings Soccer Action to Fargo-Moorhead
The tournament has been hosted by Tri-City United for many years, but they say adding the Fargo Parks Sports Center as one of the venues has really improved the experience.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Yet another athletic spectacle took over three venues in the Fargo-Moorhead area this weekend.
The Winter Classic soccer tournament, hosted by Tri-City united, brought in 197 teams with 2500 players from the Dakotas and Minnesota.
They played fast-paced 5-on-5 games from Friday to Sunday on TCU’s home turf, the Rustad Recreation Center, and the Fargo Parks Sports Center.
Organizers say the tournament has grown substantially since they added that third venue and that people love the new facility.
“We’ve gotten really positive reactions from everyone, especially the people who come here for the first time and are awed by this amazing facility,” said Kerry Wynne of Tri-City United. “They love coming here – and we are becoming the winter destination for the area that we serve.”
TCU now moves on to organizing their inaugural Super Ball – a 9-on-9 tournament taking place Super Bowl weekend that will also serve as a showcase for college recruiters.
