NDHP identifies suspect in fatal hit and run in Barnes County
VALLEY CITY, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a driving suspect in a fatal hit and run crash Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The NDHP officials say Garret Kuntz, 22, Mandan, was the person driving a 2001 Ford F-250 they’ve linked via evidence to the fatal pedestrian hit and run.
They say an anonymous tip helped in the case and are thanking the public for its help.
They say they’ve submitted the case to the Barnes County State’s Attorney for consideration of formal charges.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
