DFL candidates win two Minnesota House seats in special elections held Tuesday

ST. PAUL (KVRR/FOX9) — Two Minnesota House seats have once again been settled by a special election and the chamber will remain tied with 67 Democrats and 67 Republicans.
In District 47A, representing the eastern Twin Cities suburbs, DFL nominee Shelly Buck won against no Republican opponent.
She replaces Rep. Amanda Hemmingsen Jaeger who was elected to the Senate to take the seat of former Sen. Nicole Mitchell.
In District 64A in St. Paul, Democrat Meg Luger Nikolai defeated Republican Dan Walsh for the seat vacated by St. Paul’s new Mayor Her.
Democrats lead the Senate by one vote. The next session begins February 17.
