North Dakota Highway Patrol welcomes K-9 Beau to Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A new puppy has come to Fargo to serve the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
K-9 Beau is a nine and half month old bloodhound who made his way here from Texas.
He will be the fourth bloodhound the patrol has added to the team.
Once fully trained, K-9 Beau will be able to assist with tracking and finding missing and endangered people.
But right now, Trooper Dustin Pattengale says the dog is taking his time learning to be a cute puppy.
“My family has had dogs before, I had doxens. So I’m a little familiar with the hound group, but I have not had a bloodhound before and I have not been part of this before so a lot of this is very new to me as well. So he’s learning and I’m learning all at the same time,” said Trooper Dustin Pattengale, Traffic Trooper and K-9 Handler at North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Trooper Pattengale will be training K-9 Beau over the next year to prepare for the job.
