Bond set for $5 million for Fargo man accused of the murder of Isadora Wengel

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Joshua Hite made his first appearance in the Cass County Courtroom in a video call from the Cass County Jail.
Hite was arrested outside of his South Fargo apartment, charged with the murder of 25-year-old Isadora Wengel, tampering with physical evidence, and giving false information to law enforcement.
According to the state’s attorney, the 21-year-old Hite could be facing over a lifetime in prison. The first count alleges the murder of Wengel between January 3rd and January 6th.
The second count, tampering with physical evidence, alleges Hite, between January 3rd and January 9th, altered, destroyed, or mutilated Wengel’s death.
The final count alleges that Hite, on January 7th, gave false information to a law enforcement officer, which he knew to be false.
The recommendation of a $5 million bail made by the state’s attorney was approved by the judge.
“Mr. Hite, do you understand what took place here?”
“Yes,” Hite responded. “That concludes your hearing, sir. Thank you.”
Hite is set for a preliminary hearing on March 11.
