Otter Tail County Sheriff says he will not seek re-election

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Otter Tail County will soon be in search of a new sheriff.

Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons says he will not seek re-election. He has served two terms as sheriff for the county.

In a post to social media, Fitzgibbons says he has been with law enforcement for the past 26 years.

Fitzgibbons says, “As I prepare to enter this next chapter, I plan on enjoying time with my family and appreciating the moments that matter most.”

He will continue to serve the rest of his term that goes until January 2027.
