Moorhead brewery owner to attend State of the Union Address

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – The owner of a Moorhead brewery has been invited to President Trump’s State of the Union Address Tuesday.

Swing Barrel Brewing Co. owner Sean Syverson will be a guest of U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Klobuchar says breweries like Swing Barrel have been hit especially hard by aluminum tariffs that have increased the cost of aluminum cans.

“Sean will be there to represent all the Americans who are being crushed by rising costs as the administration has decided to double down on tariffs,” Klobuchar said.

Syverson and his friend John Kapla opened Swing Barrel Brewing Co. in downtown Moorhead in 2021.
