ONAMIA, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – Four people were killed and another was seriously hurt in a head-on crash near Mille Lacs Lake in east-central Minnesota Wednesday night.

The state patrol’s Brainerd District office says the crash happened at around 7 on Highway 169 on the lake’s southwest shore.

A northbound car crossed the centerline and struck another car head-on. One of the cars was driven by a 21-year-old woman from Isle. She was alone in the car. The other car was driven by a 53-year-old Minneapolis woman. Her passengers included two men, ages 51 and 41 from Minneapolis and Onamia, and a 25-year-old woman from Onamia. The road was dry at the time of the collision.
