Fargo Cass Public Health displays inflatable colon for Colon Cancer Awareness month

Rollin Colon

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo Cass Public Health is raising awareness about Colon Cancer Awareness Month with an inflatable colon.

The Rollin’ Colon features three-dimensional representations of normal tissue, colon cancer, Crohn’s and other elements.

People are given an opportunity to take a survey and learn more about their risks and history.

In North Dakota, colorectal cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women combined, according to the North Dakota Cancer Coalition.

“We want people to be able to learn or have the opportunity to learn their risk factors. And also see what colon cancer actually looks like,” said Cheryl Stetz, Community Health Educator at Fargo Cass Public Health.

The Rollin Colon will be back on display on March 12 and 26 at Fargo Cass Public Health
