Rev. Shay Craig to be ordained and consecrated the twelfth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota will be ordaining the first woman bishop in the region.
The Very Rev. Shay Craig will be ordained and consecrated at Gethsemane Cathedral on March 14th.
Several bishops, priests, deacons, and lay persons from across the country and Canada will gather for the celebration.
Craig was elected to the position in October.
In her time, Craig has worked with churches across the Diocese and Province with a passion for rural ministry and discerning the Spirit at work in small congregations.
“Rural ministry, especially in a Diocese like this one, where we’re separate, where we have limited resources, offers us special challenges. And seeking the gospel and being able to walk out the work that we’ve been given to do is a challenge, and it’s really special here,” said Rev. Shay Craig.
The consecration of Shay Craig as the 12th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota will be held on Saturday at Gethsemane Cathedral beginning at 10 am.
