Hoeven announces federal funding for ENDAWS project

WASHINGTON — Senator John Hoeven is announcing 108 million dollars in federal money will be going to help bring water to the eastern North Dakota
The 108 million is for the Eastern North Dakota Alternate Water Supply, or ENDAWS project.
The money was allocated as part of the Trump administration’s One Big Beautiful Bill that was passed last year.
The majority of the money goes to the construction of ENDAWS, with eight million dollars being allocated for repairs to McClusky Canal an Snake Creek Pumping Plant, both of which will be used for the project.
This money is on top of the fifty million dollars already secured for the project.
Hoeven says that the ENDAWS project will save the Red River Valley Water Supply Project two hundred million dollars in construction costs and four million dollars annually in operating costs.
“We were able to get this funding, which is very important for ENDAWS, because we included language in the One Big Beautiful Bill that both authorized it and also enabled us to fund it,” Hoeven said.
Hoeven says he has been working with the Trump administration for additional funding for the project.
