Minnesota power companies to hold third round of open houses for Maple River – Cuyuna transmission project

MINNESOTA (KVRR) — Three power and energy companies in Minnesota are looking to finalize comments for the second phase of the regional grid, the Maple River – Cuyuna transmission project.
The project is one of 24 projects approved in December 2024.
Construction would include an approximately 160-mile-long, single-circuit, 345-kilovolt transmission line on double-circuit-capable structures.
With the construction of these projects, the companies believe it will enhance regional transmission systems, use of electricity, meet growing demands, and provide cost-effective regional energy transfers.
The company will be hosting its third round of open houses next week in Detroit Lakes.
