Empting will seek third term as Clay County Sheriff

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting has announced he will seek a third term.

In a statement on social media, Empting says it’s been an honor and privilege to serve over the past seven years and says he remains fully committed to protecting public safety and strengthening the trust between his office and the community.

Empting is also a member of the Dilworth Fire Dept. and is a vice-president of the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association.

So far, no one has announced a challenge to Empting. The election is in November.
