Group holds meetings across state to educate voters on ballot measures regarding term limits, constitutional initiatives

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Three ballot measures will be presented to North Dakota voters this year, but one group is organizing a campaign to tell residents to vote no.

The first two would require citizen-initiated ballot measures to have a super majority to pass as well as restricting constitutional initiatives to a single subject.

The third measure would alter the term limits amendment that was approved by voters in 2022.

The single-subject measure will be put before voters this June, while the super majority and term limit measures will be on the November ballot.

Bismarck-based group North Dakota Watchdog Network says they curtail voters voices. The group will be holding an event to educate voters about the measures on Saturday, April 11, in Valley City.

“We kind of use this as an entry point to get discussion going,” said Dustin Gawrylow with the ND Watchdog Network. “And as we’re seeing all this turmoil in the Republican party, and in the country in general, I think the more opportunities that people have to get together and talk face to face, the better off we all are.”
