Fargo City Commission candidate turning heads with ‘Forrest Gump’ political ad

Hill Ad

FARGO — A candidate for Fargo City Commission is getting attention with a new political ad.

The ad features Aaron Hill as the fictional character Forrest Gump, from the movie of the same name.

He changes run, Forest, run to “Run, Aaron, run!”

Hill announced his run in March and currently holds a position on Fargo Park Board.

He says that he created the ad, hoping that it would attract attention to his campaign and help him stick out amongst the competition.

“I’m a big film, movie fan and so I wanted to sort of incorporate sort of film, movie into that. I like sort of bright colors, kind of a little bit goofy, silly ultimately I always say I take my responsibilities and my roles very seriously, but I don’t take myself very seriously,” Hill said.

Hill is such a big fan of Forest Gump, that he even got a tattoo.

The other candidates running for two open city commission seats are Tony Gehrig, Anna Johnson, Scott Brekke, Chad Peterson and Nikkie Gullickson.

The election is June 9.
